Curriculum

Our high school preparatory program embraces a curriculum that prepare students online for a successful college experience. The college preparatory curriculum is an interactive online program with core, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.  Dual credit courses provide students with the opportunity to finish with up to 30 credit hours, or almost a full year of college.  All courses are taught by certified and/or university-credentialed faculty who work one-on-one with students through email, discussion boards or phone calls.  With a 26-credit honors program, you can be sure you are getting a quality education utilizing online technology with the unique advantages offered by a University of the Incarnate Word school. 

Notes:

• Full-time UIW Prep students are required to perform 25 hours of community service each academic year.
• Eighth graders can take one course with prior approval of their school administrator. Classes available for eighth graders include: Spanish I, French I and Algebra I.
• Dual credit courses are college-level courses taken for high school credit. Students may take up to ten (10) dual credit courses during their junior and senior year; which gives the graduating senior up to 30 semester hours to apply to a university program after graduation.
• Each semester course provides 0.5 credit.  One-credit courses will span two semesters.  For example, 9th English I will be taken over two semesters to provide 0 .5 credit for each semester or 1.0 credit total.
